Temple Baptist Church of Hattiesburg, Mississippi is a vibrant and growing church located in the heart of the city. Founded in 1917, the church is part of the Southern Baptist Convention, and has served the community for over 100 years. The church has a long and proud history of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, and is committed to the spiritual, physical, and emotional health of its members.
What We Believe
At Temple Baptist Church we strive to live out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ, which is “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” We believe in salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, and strive to honor Him through our worship, service, and ministry. We are also a church that is committed to the truth of the Bible, and seek to create a welcoming and loving atmosphere for all of our members.
Worship Services
At Temple Baptist Church, we offer a variety of weekly and special worship services. Our Sunday morning worship services are traditional, featuring a blend of classic and contemporary hymns, an uplifting sermon, and an opportunity for members to share testimonies and prayer requests. We also offer a Wednesday evening service that focuses on prayer and Bible study, as well as special services throughout the year.
Ministries
At Temple Baptist Church, we believe in the power of service and ministry. We have a variety of ministries that are designed to meet the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of our members. These ministries include: Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Youth Outreach, Visitation, Mission Trips, and more. We also have a Women’s Ministry and a Men’s Ministry that meet regularly for fellowship and Bible study.
Community Outreach
At Temple Baptist Church, we understand the importance of reaching out to our community. We are actively involved in local outreach initiatives, such as the Hattiesburg Arts Council, the Hattiesburg Public Library, and the local schools. We also provide support to local ministries and organizations, such as the Salvation Army and the Hattiesburg Food Bank.
